Fort Campbell, Kentucky Edition
Home of the 101st Airborne
Sick and injured troops assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) at Fort Campbell,
Kentucky received the honor and comfort of a grateful nation on December 30, 2007. This special
project was undertaken in partnership with the District 6400 Rotary Clubs who funded it as a result
of the Honor and Comfort Benefit held on October 24, 2007. Thank you Rotary!
Honor and Comfort: Home Front
|

In just 23 days, Operation: Quiet Comfort donors and supporters purchased, laundered, assembled and packaged a substantial
shipment for the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
When we learned of the military’s efforts to provide this continuum of care here at home, we were very pleased. And to show our
appreciation for the great sacrifices made by our heroes at Fort Campbell, we offered to augment the military’s efforts with the
kind of love and comfort only a grateful nation can provide.
On December 29, 2007 volunteers gathered at a donated warehouse space in Plymouth, Michigan. On that day, we assembled,
packaged and loaded the following bound for Fort Campbell that very evening. We thank Vietnam Veteran, Jim Cotton, who owns
his own tractor and trailer and took the load down for us.
In total we shipped:
- 504 GO Bags (transition kits) modified for stateside use
- 504 Linen Packages consisting of a twin comforter, cotton thermal blanket, good quality pillow and pillow case - made in the
USA!
- Electric Can Openers and Jar Grippers for the barracks rooms
- A pallet full of convenience foods for those days when our warriors need a little something to sustain them.
- Several boxes of surplus grooming and hygiene supplies.
Beyond our amazing volunteers, and they are amazing in every way, we thank the following individuals and organizations for
stepping up to honor and comfort those who defend America.

To Whom It May Concern,
I just received the back pack with the toiletry items. I just wanted to say thank you very much. The items enclosed are well
needed and greatly appreciated. I will use everything that is enclosed. It is nice to know that there are people out there that
appreciate what we are doing. I just wish that there were more people out there like that. Once again, thank you very much. I
really do appreciate it and my family thanks you as well.
